We stayed home from preschool today because Sammy had a fever all night. And hasn't really eaten much the last 36 hours. He has been drinking, though, and is pretty well-hydrated. Anyway, it's nice to have a down day. We've been too busy the last few weeks, and it has totally worn me out. I am back to my old can't wake up when my alarm clock goes off ways. Not good...
The ADT techs are coming some time this afternoon to replace the battery in my alarm system. (Did I mention I had a heck of a technology SNAFUs day yesterday? The PDA, the alarm system, & the DSL - so therefore the phone. It was very stressful for me.) I guess the sales rep lied when he told me they kept an eye on battery status remotely and would come replace it when it needed it. Also, why the heck didn't my keypad panel say give me any kind of error?
It makes me tired just thinking about it. Can I just go back to bed???

I thought you were home schooling? Do you go somewhere too?
Yes, we joined our local Traditions of Roman Catholic Homes (TORCH) homeschool group/co-op. The co-op meets once a week on Wed. mornings. Most of the preschoolers in there have older siblings taking "real" classes. (Everything rom Lego architecture for 5-7 year olds, to calc, Shakespeare, etc. for the high school students!)
I joined because I wanted to get to know some of the other Catholic homeschooling moms in my area, and I wanted my kids to have lots of opportunities to learn to get along in the community, follow directions from adults other than mommy, etc. It is a great fit for us and lots of fun. All parents of students have to be teaching or helping out in some co-op class while their kids are in classes, so I just help out in MY kids' class. (Which was advantageous last spring term as this summer/fall was the first time Sammy was really OK being without me for longer than 15 min!)
Katie is technically too young to enroll, but I knew she would not stay in the nursery without me. So she is one of about 4 or 5 1- & 2-year-olds who stay with their moms in the preschool class. But she participates right along with the 3-5 year olds and doesn't know that she is not officially part of the class, too.
We also do MusikGarten music classes once a week. We started Sammy in them when Katie was a baby. (That's another thing that she started participating in way before she was technically old enough.) This is his 5th "semester" in it. We used to go Wed evenings (which made for REALLY long Wed.s last year) to this year we go on Monday mornings. That is a lot of fun, too!
I am way too extroverted to actually homeschool AT HOME all week!
